Albert Hughes
Albert Hughes was first introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2002 through a friend, and was instantly drawn to the effectiveness of the techniques he was shown. By 2004, he had made Jiu-Jitsu his primary focus — training full-time and competing multiple times a year, all across the U.S. and internationally.
In February 2011, Albert received his black belt from Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu — a defining milestone in a journey built on years of full-time dedication to the art.
He remains a student of the art to this day. His focus now is sharing that experience with his students and building a Jiu-Jitsu community that represents what Genesis stands for. As Albert puts it — he's an easy guy to talk to. If you want to know more, come train and ask.
Randy Villareal
The Genesis Jiu-Jitsu Burleson location was opened by Randy Villareal and his wife, Sam Villareal.
Randy's own path into martial arts started in 2009, when he began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Jake Montalvo in Harlingen, Texas. In 2011, he relocated to Waco and continued his development under Chris Spicer at a Relson Gracie affiliate academy — deepening a grappling foundation that would eventually carry him into competition at the highest level.
In 2014, Randy began competing in amateur MMA, and went on to make his professional MMA debut with Bellator — competing under the Genesis BJJ banner. That competitive background, combined with years of coaching, is what he brought to Burleson when he and Sam opened the academy's doors.
Sam has been by Randy's side throughout, helping build Genesis Burleson into the family-oriented community it is today.
Sam Villareal
Alongside Randy, Sam has helped shape Genesis Burleson into a true community — the kind of place where families are known by name, not membership number.
